Lycra fabric, if knitted on tubular machines leave crease marks on both sides of tubular fabric that wont be removed during processing and ironing. Quality garment makers do not buy fabric having this crease mark.

Open width machines come with a motorised cutter fitted at the top of winder which cut and opens the fabric before winding and the specially designed winder winds the fabric in open and single stretch form without any fold and crease.

Quality garment makers pay premium for crease less fabric. Knitters knitting on job get 4 times higher conversion for open width lycra fabric. The price of open width machines are only about 20% higher than tubular machines but the knitting charges are 4 times to that of tubular knitting jobs. Production remain same
